Contract Developer - UK employer with offices in SA - New tech start-up - Be part of the revolution!

So here’s the deal… If you’re the most enthusiastic, charming and downright brilliant developer out there or just have the appetite to create a truly great web application, we’ll give you a possibly career-changing job based in our Cape Town offices working with a great tech start-up based in London and SA.

The immediate focus is a 2-3 month production cycle to create the Minimum-Viable-Product (MVP) web application, but we’re interested in long-term contracts as we believe in fostering talent and keeping great teams together.

The team
You’ll be working for a start-up set to revolutionise the world of performance management with a game-changing web application. Our team has been delivering digital solutions for over ten years and is part of the Big Ideas Group Ltd, a £20mill turnover collective of technology businesses, currently number 33 in the Sunday Times top 100 best companies to work for in the UK.

What will you do?
Since this is a new role within the business the list below is constantly evolving. Working with the CTO and COO, you will be responsible for the bulk of technical planning and development of the web application. You will also work with the rest of the development team at a tactical level in conjunction with the CTO for overall development direction.

MySQL: 3 years+ ? Working knowledge of web server hosting ? Basic server-side LAMP stack administration experience (Linux, Apache, etc) ? Working knowledge of domain hosting and DNS ? Working knowledge of website performance optimisation ? Working knowledge of code and database backup solutions ? Working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, responsive and interactive development ? Working knowledge of APIs, web services, SOAP and similar data integration methods ? General knowledge of Software-As-A-Service (SaaS), web applications and mobile applications
